Mera Peak (6476m.) is one of the attractive peaks for the climbers in Everest region. It was almost overlooked in the east of Khumbu region trekking trail. Every year, more than 700 climbers summit the peak. Mera Peak climbing is also trekking to the remote wilderness valleys with experiencing Sherpa Culture and their life style including gigantic view of Mt. Everest (8848m.), Mt Amadablam, Mt Lhotse (8516m.), Mt Kanchenjunga (8586m.), Mt. Makalu (8463m.), Mt. Cho Oyo (8201m.), Nuptse (7855m.), and Chamlang (7319m.) etc.

Mera Peak was almost ignored peak though it is the highest peak to climb in Nepal. The peak is not technically difficult. Climbing ascent is made through Mera La Pass at 5,415m. There are different approaches to access the base camp of Mera Peak. The trek to Mera Peak is pleasantly performed with full of experiences of natural beauty. The trail is full of picturesque views of forest of rhododendron, juniper, bamboos etc. The views of green valleys and flowery shrubs make the visitors to stay enjoying the garden-like beauty. The wilderness of Hinko and Hongu valley provides variety of flora and fauna to explore before entering in Khumbu region. You can have wonderful adventure while climbing Mera Peak with insightful trekking to this wilderness area.

Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
Welcome to the country of Mt. Everest! As you arrive in Tribhuvan International Airport, our representatives will receive you and transfer to the hotel which you have booked in Kathmandu. Hotel staffs will complete check in and manage for your accommodation. We organize welcome dinner in the hotel in the evening with our team.

Day 02: Kathmandu exploration and preparing for trek 
On this day, there will be a guided tour to the famous cultural and historical sites of Kathmandu including UNESCO enlisted world heritage sites. In the afternoon, you should involve pre- trip discussion with your guide for well preparation of the trip. You will have dinner in the hotel in the evening. You can experience night life in Thamel too.

Day 03:  Kathmandu to Lukla flight and Trekking to Chutanga (3450m.)
With having breakfast in Kathmandu, your flight is set to Lukla. It’s a short scenic flight of half-an hour. Panoramic view of the Himalayan region while you are in the air gives pleasant impression of the beauty of nature. Explore Lukla surrounding till evening. We begin our trek to Chhutanga from Lukla after reaching Lukla. The trail offers beautiful views of meadows and valleys with terraced fields. We stay overnight in a camp in Chhutanga.

Day 04: Trekking to Khartitang (3900m.)
On this day, we walk up to Khartitang passing through Jatrawala Pass for about six hours. The natural scenarios are eye-staking with full of green lush and meadows. The picturesque views of mountains and peaks in distance seem very pleasant. We stay overnight in Khartitang in camp .

Day 05: Trekking to Nau Lekha
On this day, our walk is set to Nau Lekha from Khartitang. It is pleasant trekking passing through green valleys and some settlements. You can explore the surrounding along the way to Nau Lekha. We set camp in Nau Lekha for overnight stay. You can explore the surrounding in the afternoon.

Day 06: Trekking to Kothey (3634m.)
We follow the trail to reach Kothey. The trail is pleasantly with descends through forest. Shepherd huts and meadows can be seen along the trail. The views of mountains and forests are pleasantly beautiful while trekking to Kothey. We stay overnight in camp.

Day 07: Trekking to Tangnag (4350m.)
On this day, we reach Tangnag ascending some elevation. The picturesque views of mountains and varied landscape gives pleasant experience while trekking along the trail. The trail passes through pastureland and shepherd huts. We stay overnight in a camp.

Day 08:  Trekking to Khare (5025m.)
This day trekking follows the trail to Khare, crossing the valley and forests with some ascend. The trek is full magnificent views of mountains and landscapes with experiencing fresh air in peaceful environment. We reach at the elevation of 5025m in Khare where stay overnight in a camp.

Day 09: Trekking to Mera Base Camp (5300m.)
On this day, we reach at Mera Base Camp on the elevation of 5300m. It is about 6 hours trekking. The trail is full of gigantic views of mountains and peaks. On reaching to the base camp, you are free to explore surrounding area of Mera Peak.  We set camp for overnight stay.

Day 10: Acclimatization day
We have rest day today. It is necessary to acclimatize to adjust with environment. The climbing guides will give training on climbing process like rope fixing and other activities while climbing to the summit after you return from hiking and exploring the Peak area. You can wander around the locality and overnight stay in a camp.

Day 11: Trek to Mera High Camp (5750m.)
On this day, we trek to High Camp of the Mera Peak at the altitude of 5750m. The climbing is not very long one but with some challenging ascents. We set high camp and stay overnight there. View of the gigantic mountains and snow-capped peaks give you breath taking impression from the High Camp too.

Day 12: Summit Mera Peak and return to Base Camp (6476m.)
This day is to summit the top of Mera Peak at 6476m. The astonishing views of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Chamlang and many other eight thousanders from the top of the peak provide a life memorable experience. We return back to base Camp and overnight stay in camp.

Day 13: Retrieve Back to Khare (5025m.)
On this day, our trekking turns to returning direction to Khare after successful summiting the peak. The experience of successful summiting the peaks and life memorable views give extra exciting feelings while returning as it was curiosity and fear of climbing. The views are rewarding while descending down to Khare. We stay overnight in Khare.

Day 14: Retrieve back to Kothe (3600m.)
On this day, we trek back to Kothe after walking for 5 hours. Astonishing views of giant mountains stand still and calm while walking back to Kothe. Views of green forests, valleys and landscape are superb while returning back. We stay overnight in Kothe.

Day 15:  Retrieve back to Khartitang (3900m.)
On this day, we return back to Khartitang from Kothe. The trekking continues through the same pleasant views of natural vegetation and landscape. We reach Khartitang and set camp for overnight stay. You can explore the surrounding area of Khartitang in the afternoon and evening

Day 16: Retrieve Back To Chutanga (3450m.)
We trek back to Chutanga from Khartitang on this day descending down and passing through forest of rhododendron. The picturesque views of mountains seem to be pleasant and beautiful though we are being away from these superb views. We reach at Chutanga and set camps for overnight stay. You can explore surrounding area.

Day 17: Retrieve back to Lukla
On this day, we trek to Lukla from Chutanga. The pleasant view of landscape and some mountain scenarios are very impressive while trekking through the forests. This is the last day of our trekking to reach Lukla. You can explore Lukla Bazaar and shop local items there. We stay overnight in a lodge in Lukla.

Day 18: Lukla to Kathmandu
On this day, you will fly back to Kathmandu in a short-scenic flight which possibly makes you feel nostalgic because of the panoramic views of giant mountains from your private window of the plane. In Kathmandu, you will be received by our representatives and transferred to hotel. You can catch last moments for shopping and visiting missed sites. In the evening, we organize a celebration dinner for you with our team.

Day 19: Rest in Kathmandu
On this day, you are free to explore Kathmandu Valley with a guide. You can reach some sites of valley and explore them or have rest in hotel. You are free to visit markets and shopping there. The day in Kathmandu is for refreshment after a long trek to the peak climbing. You stay overnight in the same hotel

Day 20: Departure Day
As it is the last day, we have to bid goodbye to the guest as visit in Nepal comes to the end for this time. If you have time enough, you can have sightseeing and purchasing the token of love from Nepal. Before 3 hours of scheduled flight, our representatives will take you to the TIA. We hope you will be planning for another adventure-trip while you are on returning back to your homeland. You can extend your Nepal stay if you have time and desire too.
